With its doors open, offering both apparel and interior designs, the store evokes the feel of a chic Stockholm boutique, establishing a new corner of good design on one of Spain’s most prominent avenues.
In its first store on Spanish soil, Arket occupies the ground and first floors of a historic building from 1900, adjacent to one of Barcelona’s most popular restaurants. The Nordic brand aims to introduce its natural, slow-living, and highly aesthetic lifestyle and philosophy to a city always eager to embrace fresh, diverse influences. The store’s interior features clean lines, natural materials, and a color palette reflecting the calm and serenity of the Nordic climate, creating a space that is both functional and harmonious, embodying the hallmark of excellent design from this part of the world.
Beyond its timeless high-quality basics and the latest collections that keep the brand current, Arket’s flagship store offers more than just clothing. With the ambition of presenting a modern market with a wide range of products, the store includes a pop-up bookstore by Barcelona-based publisher Apartamento. Here, a curated selection of literature on art, food, and aesthetics complements the Arket universe, engaging all senses. “This is one of our most anticipated openings, and we couldn’t be happier to finally open our first store in Barcelona,” says Pernilla Wohlfahrt, the brand’s General Manager.
