CHARLES JEFFREY LOVERBOY
A DECADE OF QUIRKINESS
Charles Jeffrey Loverboy
This summer, from June 8th to September 1st, immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Charles Jeffrey, the Scottish designer who has captivated the fashion industry since his debut. The exhibition, titled “The Lore of Loverboy,” chronicles ten years of the brand’s evolution, from its roots in club culture to its groundbreaking, gender-fluid runway shows.
Charles Jeffrey, a resident artist at Somerset House, is commemorating a decade of challenging fashion conventions with his brand. Built on inclusivity and self-expression, Loverboy draws inspiration from Jeffrey’s time at Central Saint Martins and the dynamic subcultures of London. Renowned for its bold colors, unconventional tailoring, and a punk-infused spirit, the brand celebrates individuality and unique narratives influenced by these subcultures. To celebrate this milestone, Jeffrey also took over Somerset House for his Spring 2025 Men’s Wear show during fashion week.
The Lore of Loverboy exhibition, currently at Somerset House, delves into Jeffrey’s remarkable impact on global fashion. The exhibition features a comprehensive collection of his work, from early pieces to newly commissioned designs, all showcasing his distinctive style that continues to inspire. Jeffrey’s ethos is clear: fashion is for everyone, and it should be enjoyable. The exhibition aims to inspire aspiring creatives, illustrating how a club night can transform into a global fashion phenomenon.
“I’m excited to share my fashion journey at Somerset House,” Jeffrey said. “It’s not just about celebrating 10 years of Loverboy; it’s about sharing our creative, accessible, and playful approach to fashion.” The exhibition spans three distinct spaces, each offering a vibrant mix of artistic collaborations, films, illustrations, and never-before-seen Loverboy memorabilia. Visitors will gain a unique insight into Jeffrey’s creative process, from his initial inspirations to the development of his iconic designs.
