DIOR MEN X PARLEY FOR THE OCEANSDESIGNER MEETS ECO-INNOVATION
Dior Men x Parley for the Oceans
In the previous year’s collaboration, Dior Men and Parley for the Oceans unveiled beachwear that included iridescent wetsuits and geometric water shoes, highlighting the otherworldly essence of underwater life. For their new 2024 partnership, Dior has shifted the focus to textured, collared shirts, striped-knitted ponchos, and windowpane patterned culottes. The garments come in coastal hues like turquoise, beige, navy, sky blue, and coral.
This beachwear collection, a joint effort by the renowned French Maison and the environmental organization, has been in development for three years. Their shared mission is to combat ocean pollution while emphasizing Dior’s commitment to sustainable fashion. The collaboration began in 2019 with a research project to develop eco-friendly yarns and fabrics. In the fall 2024 men’s collection, 30% of the textiles are crafted from Parley Ocean Plastic, a premium material made from upcycled marine plastic debris and fishing gear collected from ocean coastlines. Dior has skillfully integrated recycled ocean material into sophisticated and functional classic beachwear pieces. Artistic director Kim Jones ensures the Maison’s iconic designs remain at the forefront of the industry.
In addition to shorts, bags, and vests, the collection features Dior-emblazoned hammocks, paddleboards, and H-Town sandals. With each innovative design, Dior underscores its dedication to a sustainable and eco-innovative fashion future while maintaining designer integrity.
