We are back with a new call for the METAL Scholarship for LCI, a golden opportunity for those looking to advance their careers in the fashion industry, especially if you aim to become a stylist. The registration period is now open for fully funded access to the Master’s in Fashion Styling, Advertising, and Audiovisual Media for the 2024-2025 academic year. This call is directed at graduates in Fashion Design, Image Consulting, Protocol, Audiovisual Communication, Advertising, Fine Arts, or other related disciplines. You can apply on the LCI platform until June 21. From all the participants, one winner will be chosen, who will also have the chance to study in LCI’s new building in the heart of the 22@ district, the most innovative and technological area of Barcelona. What more could you ask for?
We understand, sometimes applying for scholarships and competitions can feel overwhelming—why bother if I won’t get it, where will I find the time with everything else going on, I just want to go on vacation, and so on. Wrong. Some things are worth the effort, and this is one of them. Just ask David Pérez, who was probably in your shoes a year ago, weighing the pros and cons, and now look where he is, happily enrolled in this Master’s program because he won the scholarship last year. What David did is what you need to do now: go here, fill out the form, attach your portfolio (three projects are enough, and they can be personal works; no need to have published or worked for any company), and also submit a motivation letter. Why should the scholarship be yours? That’s what we want you to tell us.
A team of LCI experts will evaluate all applications and select the ten finalists who will advance to the final stage: participating in a workshop led by Yolanda Muelas, director of METAL, where the creativity and knowledge of the scholarship candidates will be tested. The jury evaluating the final test will consist of Yolanda Muelas, an independent industry professional, and Estel Vilaseca, head of the fashion area at LCI Barcelona. The winner will be announced at the end of July.
LCI Barcelona is one of the twelve higher education institutions that LCI Education has spread across five continents. Their educational offerings are extensive: Fashion, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Product Design, Animation, Video Games, and Photography. These come in various programs, from higher-level training cycles, masters, and postgraduates to continuing education programs. In their own words: “At LCI, we foster synergies between all the areas we teach to train professionals with values and tools that meet the challenges of the new economy and creative industries.” The scholarship is valued at 10,620 euros (administration and management fees of 500 euros are not covered), and the course starts on October 14.
