Niccolò Pasqualetti: Collapsing Opposites Together

Jul 25, 2024

Niccolò Pasqualetti transitioned from studying at Central Saint Martins in London to working at The Row in New York, and then moving to Paris as a designer for Loewe. He is now a finalist for the LVMH Prize. Pasqualetti introduces his S/S 2024 and RTW F/W 2024 collections, which, despite embracing change and proposing new combinations, remain true to the brand’s core principles and distinctive signatures.

Interview with Niccolò Pasqualetti

Hello Niccolò, it’s a pleasure to speak with you today! How are you?

I’m doing well, thank you. Right now, I’m feeling optimistic about the future. We’re constantly learning and I’m grateful for the continuous progress.

Congratulations on your S/S 2024 and RTW F/W 2024 collections! I’m eager to learn more about them, but first, could you share a bit about your journey and how you’ve reached this point? You launched your namesake brand in 2021. How would you summarize the past three years?

The past three years have been filled with changes, but my core principles have remained steady. Since the beginning, we’ve focused on establishing certain recognizable signatures. Each season allows us to refine what sets us apart. Every show is an opportunity for new proposals and combinations.

Before starting your own brand, you worked for The Row, Alighieri, and Loewe. Did any of these brands particularly influence your artistic development and creative process?

Each experience was unique and required me to adapt to different environments and people. My time at Central Saint Martins in London was eye-opening, revealing aspects of myself that I hadn’t known. This self-awareness was crucial when I started my own path. At The Row in New York, I experimented with various fabrics and techniques. Later, working as a designer for Loewe in Paris broadened my perception of possibilities within the industry. Ultimately, who I am and what I do today is the culmination of these diverse experiences.
